RI state rep fined $6K for marketing campaign finance violation

CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — A state lawmaker who represents elements of Johnston and Windfall is accused of utilizing marketing campaign funds for private use.

Rep. Ramon A. Perez, D-District 13, has been fined $6,000 for marketing campaign finance violations, in response to the R.I. Board of Elections.

The board mentioned it voted unanimously throughout a gathering Wednesday to just accept the audit report and consent order executed for Perez. In line with the report, the audit was initiated in April and revealed discrepancies between his marketing campaign finance studies and checking account statements.

Along with the nice, Perez was ordered to reimburse his marketing campaign checking account $1,072.49.

Perez has not responded to a request for remark from 12 Information.
