Gov. Tim Walz held a ceremonial invoice signing Monday to mark the passage of unemployment insurance coverage and frontline employee aid.
Minnesota legislative leaders reached a deal final week to refill the state’s unemployment insurance coverage belief fund and to pay bonuses to frontline staff.
The settlement consists of $2.7 billion to replenish the belief fund and pay again a debt to the federal authorities for jobless help, and $500 million for frontline employee bonus checks.
About 667,000 staff will probably be eligible for the $750 bonus checks.
